Today I went to Bras Basah Complex. I tried the circle line from Bishan to Bras Basah for the first time because I wanted to try something new and I thought that Bras Basah circle line is somewhere near Bras Basah Complex but I was wrong! When I reached Bras Basah circle line I searched the mrt map for Bras Basah Complex and I realised that from the circle line to my destination was quite a far walk. So I exited the circle line from Queen’s Road and I headed towards what looked like a familiar road. After about 1 minute of walking I realised I was lost. I thought ‘Nevermind, at the most I’ll just cab.’ but it dawned upon me that I’m going to be spending a bomb on art materials and I would not be able to afford the luxury of a cab. So I continued walking and I saw Raffles City Shopping Centre. Hallelujah! I know how to walk to Bras Basah Complex from Raffles City thank God.

I swear Bras Basah Complex is the best shopping complex ever! Okay, best is relative soooo its my favourite shopping complex ever! There’s like countless good (not to mention cheap) book stores and arty farty shops and music stores that sell bad-ass guitars and stuff. SO AWESOME! Yeah I bought my art materials and crap and headed towards Peninsula Plaza to check out some stuff.

There’s this small road with a traffic light that you will have to cross to reach Peninsula Plaza but most of the time when there are no cars zooming across the road people would just jaywalk. But this time it was different! The crowd did not jaywalk even though it the road was wiped clean of cars. I too did not jaywalk as I would only jaywalk when other people does in order to lower the chance of a vehicle hitting me. I thought it was pretty strange. Then, a man jaywalked. I watched as he hurried across the road. When he reached the opposite side, he was approached by a guy dressed in a white uniform. I realised that he was a traffic police omg. That must be why nobody jaywalked except for the guy who got caught. Thank goodness I did not jaywalk too!

After my business and Peninsula Plaza was done, I took the mrt to Bishan. A couple of seconds after the door opens the announcement thing said “Doors closing” followed by the ‘tee tee tee teee’ and there was this guy coming down from the escalator and he wanted to catch the train so ran super fast and got into the mrt just before the doors closed fully. What the hell was he thinking? Can’t he wait for another 4 minutes for the next train? I could hear people around saying ‘Tsk tsk’ and shaking their heads. Aiyoh. He must really be in a rush to do something like that. What happens if the door closes and one of his limbs get stuck between the doors?

There was this one time where my guy friends were fooling around in the mrt and got a female friend’s bag stuck between the doors! It was hilarious but if it was her hand or other body parts it wouldn’t be very funny.

From the mrt I had to take a bus back home. I boarded bus number 52 and sat down somewhere at the front of the bus. A few stops later an old woman boarded the bus so I offered my sit to her but she kindly declined and sat at the back so nevermind I decided to stand for the rest of the journey and give others a chance to sit on the bus which was rather crowded. I stood in front of an Indian woman and then all of a sudden she pushed me from the back and said (very loudly) “Excuse me!” I must had leaned a little too far behind but I couldn’t feel it because I was carrying a backpack. Excuse me but WHAT THE HELL? ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?! You don’t push people when they are standing too close to you. You tell them in a nice manner and then expect them to move furthur out infront. Oh my god. People in Singapore are rarely rude (in my opinion) and I was so suay to encounter such a rare species. What a bitch!

Okay but on a lighter note that incident made me blog about this because it made my day more interesting and opened my eyes to characters of people I have never experienced before.
